AGARTALA, November 4 (TIWN): One stolen Vehicle from Jharkhand bearing number TR-04-D-0308 nabbed by police at Agartala Chittaranjan Road area on Tuesday. Acting on a tipoff the East Police station police reached the said spot and seized the vehicle and detained the culprit namely Dipankar Acharjee resident of Amtali under Amtali Police Station.
The original number of the vehicle is JH-01-AF-7430, but when the vehicle was nabbed it bearded with a local state number. After getting the information police personnel of East Agartala Police Station rushed to the spot and conducted a search operation in a garage near Chittaranjan Road on Tuesday and seized the vehicle. The vehicle was having a tag of “On NFR Duty”. After verification police found that the vehicle was stolen from Jharkhand during the year 2013.
According to police, during the time of the theft some miscreants seated in the vehicle acting as passengers beaten up the driver and stole the car.
At present the owner of the vehicle is Dipanker Acharjee, who was also been detained by the police. He brought the vehicle from the actual owner of the vehicle who is a resident of Ambassa, said cops. Police is now investigating the case.
