AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): CPI-M’s indigenous wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) has slammed IPFT Party for playing double role on Citizenship Amendment Act with BJP.
“The IPFT will be in power and to implement the Act in alliance with BJP and IPFT and on the other side IPFT will be protesting against the ACT. This is nothing but double role of IPFT”, said a GMP leader.
ADC CEM Radhacharan Debbarma asked IPFT to make its stand clear on this act and asked whether IPFT will be protesting during the imposition of the act when the BJP-IPFT Govt itself will impose the act, which was nothing but display of the IPFT party’s “double role”?
has moved to Supreme Court of India challenging Citizenship Amendment Act, calling it not only ‘undemocratic’ but harmful against whole Northeast.
Earlier, Jitendra Choudhury when was MP opposed inside and outside the Parliament against this Act which was Citizenship Amendment Bill (2016).
Jitendra Choudhury said that the Citizenship Amendment Act was a violation of the Instrument of Accession signed by the princely state to merge with the Union of India in 1949.
