SANTIRBAZAR, November 2 (TIWN): Pure Drinking water scarcity looms large in remote place of Santirbazar Sub Division. Most of the villagers have to go to far- flung area to fetch drinking water. For the past two years remote poor Tribal People from Santirbazar have not received a modest drinking water.
Some cases of water borne diseases have been reported from these areas. Eruption of enteric disease and diarrhea are most common in remote tribal localities. Debipur, Kowaifung, 52 colony, Kathaliya, kalshi, Purba Pilak, Birendranagar and Srikantabari are the most affected areas under Santirbazar Sub Division. Most of the areas are totally depends on groundwater and most of the tube wells of these said areas are not working/nonfunctional.
