AGARTALA, Nov 23 (TIWN): In a rare incident, due to massive poverty, a child allegedly has been handed over to child home by a poor mother in Tripura.

Mother Chaitramala Tripura has said while handing over the baby to the home, “I do not have capacity to rear my child. So, I have decided to leave it to the home”.

The incident took place at Belonia’s Kailash Nagar area’s Mohon Sardar Para, under South Tripura District.

“Due to poverty I don’t have my own food, how to feed my baby ?”, said the woman with tears.

Recently 6 Bru community’s people have died in starvation including a child at Kanchanpur.
