AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Thursday while addressing in a programme at Agartala claimed that both NRC and Citizenship Bill will help India for development.
Explaining what is NRC, Biplab Deb said that NRC is just like to find out outsiders. “We always close our doors at night so that no one can enter from outside. If we can think about our home, why not the bigger home of us which is our nation?”
However, before one year also the same Chief Minister was against NRC and said according to Tripura’s demography there is no need of NRC.
Talking about Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) Biplab Deb said that those who came from other countries will be given 6 months to enter their names in the NRC and if they don’t put their names then automatically their names will not be in the citizenship list of India.
CM said that those minorities in Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan will be given shelter in India and those who are not minority will be excluded of Indian citizen’s benefits.
When CM said this, IPFT President, Minister NC Debbarma was present on the dais.
Deb added, once NRC and CAB are done, no outsider will be allowed anymore to enter India.
