Churaibari, Oct 29 (TIWN): Acting on tip-off, Police of Churaibari police station, Officer-in-charge and SDPO led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP), North district recovered 1100 bottles of contraband items worth Rs 1 lakh from Sanicherra area adjacent to Assam-Agartala National Highway, here today.
Based on secret information, Police conducted raid in a vehicle (Cruiser) bearing number TR01-C- 4272. During the search, police recovered contraband items worth Rs 1 lakh. According to the
police, the contraband items were smuggling to Agartala from Silchar.
Police seized the vehicle and detained the co-driver. The co-driver was identified as Bikash Nama (18), resident of Bishalghar. After getting smell of raid, immediately the driver of the vehicle fled away.
