AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): The vehicle driver Dilip Debbarma who was injured in a gunfire on September 18 is reportedly a CPI-M activists. Today former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has met Dilip Debbarma at the GB hospital, who is in recovery stage now.
ADC CEM Radhacharan Debbarma was also attending Manik Sarkar during the visit.
This incident which triggered massive tension took place at Champaknagar, West District. The miscreants came by wearing helmet and thus their faces could not be recognized.
It happened on the evening of Viswakarma puja at Rabicharan Thakur para of Kalabagan village in Champaknagar.
They goons wearing full covered helmets fired 3 rounds and one round hit on Dilip Debbarma’s leg.They also beaten Dilip Debbarma heavily, caused severe injuries on his body.
Another person was with Dilip Debbarma who rushed to the village and informed villagers. Then all ran to spot but by that time these miscreants escaped from there.In serious condition, Dilip Debbarma was brought in GB hospital, now undergoing treatment.
CPI-M has condemned the incident slamming the BJP Govt over the law and order condition and increasing attacks on the opposition.
