KANCHANPUR, Sep 20 (TIWN): Huge amounts of liquors were seized from Kanchanpur on Thursday, which were being carried illegally.

The vehicle bearing number TR 05 B 1536 came in Kanchanur from Dharmanagar.

Local people at first nabbed the driver along with vehicle at the Dasda-Kambal Tilla and called police. Police seized 1600 bottles from the vehicle.

Show-cause notice has been issued to 2 SPO Jawans for negligence in checking while in duty at the gate.

Driver Jaladhar Chama was arrested and the owner of the alcohols Pinaki Nath was booked by police.
