AGARTALA, Sep 19 (TIWN): Tripura High Court has restricted Govt of Tripura to recruit new employees by terminating earlier existing employees.
In a verdict, Justice Arindam Lodh has made it clear that no Government can not terminate people and in those same posts recruit fresh candidates.
The petition was about GRS appointment where BJP led State Govt advertised for interviews for the post of 1,962 MGNREGA workers (Gram Rojgar Sevak), whereas already 1,962 people are still working in this same field. It created doubt among the existing employees and GRS Bendu Deb filed a writ petition in the High Court.
Court made it clear that no existing employee can be terminated. As Tripura Govt did not say anything about termination in the advertisement, so the advertisement was not cancelled.
So, Tripura Govt now can not terminate the existing employees and also has to appoint more 1,962 fresh employees as per the interview.
