AGARTALA, Sep 16 (TIWN): Former Health Minister Badal Choudhury has taken a jibe at the BJP Govt for imposing fees in the Govt hospital services.
Addressing media Badal Choudhury said, “It has been seen that now under the new circular of the BJP Govt a patient by paying Rs. 20, Rs. 30 and Rs. 50 can go till the MET. Such rule never was existing in Govt hospitals. Now whenever a patient will take admission in hospital it will be chargeable”.
“If a person takes AC-cabin s/he has to pay Rs. 700, for Non-AC cabin Rs. 600 has been fixed. Earlier for ICU there was no charge, but now for APL per day Rs. 600 and for priority group Rs. 400 per day”.
Badal Choudhury slams the Govt for imposing oxygen charge Rs. 50 per hour.
“A large number of people need oxygen, but unfortunately Govt has sought Rs. 50 per hour for oxygen”, said Badal Choudhury.
However, Govt said that there are 100% relaxations for the BPL families whereas the notification is still under 'drafting'.
No new notification was circulated after that.
