UDAIPUR October 27 (TIWN): Udaipur District Congress today gheraod Udaipur Municipal Council against the recent scam of Rs1.27 crore in which Junior Engineer Pradip Pal is involved. More than 500 workers led by MLA Pranajit Singha Roy gheraod the UMC at around 11.30am and submitted a memorandum of three points demands to the Executive Officer Nihar CH Das.
The demands include:-
1) Immediate suspension of Pradip Pal and other employees who are involved in the scam
2) Lodging of FIR in Radhakishorepur Police Station against the main accused
3) Special Audit to be conducted in all schemes through which funds am have been granted to Udaipur Municipal Council and publish this audit in public.
Before this the Congress leaders and workers brought out a protest rally to the streets against the ongoing scam in UMC. MLA Pranajit Singha said," We have demanded thorough investigation in this case and if the UMC does not respond promptly District Congress will be forced to take legal action against the UMC. It is really shameful that the funds allotted for the development of the poor and common mass are being looted by the ruling arty leaders and a section of govt employees in collaboration of CPI(M) leader
