AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): Amid celebrations across Tripura on the Teachers Day, future of over 15,000 teachers left uncertain in Tripura including 10323 teachers, SSA and RMSA teachers. The state was also shocked by demise of a teacher among 10323 Surait Debbarma after hearing insulting remark in a talk show against the teachers quality. SSA teachers Association Secretary Bastab Debbarma expressed frustration saying, “Although it's a noble job but in our state/other states teachers are facing so many problems i.e job insecurity and financially very poor.Teachers are insulting everywhere. Only Teachers Day, a few dignitaries person said 'Teacher is the backbone of our society' but after the programme no one is trying to know what/why the teachers are facing problems and how to mitigate/solve teachers deplorable conditions".
"So now every teachers are feeling that only good words are not enough and do something for teachers for the development of the state as well as our great country”, Bastab Debbarma added.
His statement came after Education Minister Ratanlal Nath hinted in the Assembly about an uncertain future of the SSA, RMSA teachers.
Same goes with the 10323 teachers. On June, 2020 the teachers will end their job tenure as ad-hoc teachers under Supreme Court’s order, but before that the teacher who are striving to save their jobs have lost one more colleague named Surajit Debbarma who allegedly after a talk-show in a local TV channel died in heart attack after one of the orators delivered insulting comment against the teachers. 10323 teachers have warned people not to insult 10323 teachers as “Supreme Court” didn’t say that 10323 teachers are unworthy.
However, today Governor, CM, Education Minister all have played teachers role as a part of paying tribute to the teachers.
