AGARTALA, Sep 4 (TIWN): Amid oppositions’ protests, walkouts Tripura Assembly has passed the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) Bill which directs Govt and Private employees to continue services without any disruption.
This bill to empower police to arrest people in service who disrupts works in various means and this arrest will be without warrant, but this bill has added private employees in Tripura.
CPI-M MLAs said such bill nobody can support in whole India.
Citing example, Chief Minister Biplab Deb however said that recently centering an issue a private organization has stopped dialysis which has affected the health service and there are many examples like this.
The bill was demanded to be discussed in the select committee but this time the Govt has changed the tradition and didn’t bother to listen to the opposition, said the CPI-M.
Govt said, this law in existing in 10 states.
At the same time, Congress has also criticized this new law. Advocate Pijush Kanti Biswas said, such law which try to control private employees are nowhere in India.
