AGARTALA, October 26 (TIWN): Police are conducting a series of interrogation to Scamster Bimal who is the prime accused in the multicrore crore scam at Bishalgarh block. During the interrogation Bimal has started to provide some information regarding the multicrore scam, said a highly placed source in the police department.
According to sources, during the interrogation Bimal mentioned that he had spent funds meant for different projects after getting clearance from the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Bishalgarh Panchayat Samity. Bimal further mentioned that Rs. 2.80 crore was spent to build DM office and DM residence under the supervision of the then District Magistrate Kiran Gitte, the source added.
Already the police are in the field to arrest the remaining 11 involved persons in the MGNREGA multicrore scam of Bishalghar RD Block. The SDJM court has already issued arrest warrant against all the accused persons.
It is to be mentioned here that, Bimal surrendered before the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court on October 23rd last. After that the Court sent him to five days police remand which will be over on October 27. Under instruction from top brass, the incumbent Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bishalgarh, Subrata Das, registered an FIR against his predecessor and incumbent Assistant Director of Information Department, Bimal Chakraborty and 11 others. The alleged scam in MGNREGA fund and a few other Central flagship projects have occurred during past two financial years, according to the report of State audit bureau.
Police is in tight spot as BDO Bimal is a close aide of Chief MInister so every drama being played now need prior approval from top boss. Till CBI takes over investigation, Tripura people will contnue to see more dramas in the name of investigation.
