AGARTALA, Aug 29 (TIWN): Tripura Chakmas have demanded customary law’s immediate implementation. In this regard, a massive rally was conducted and a deputation was placed to the ADC CEM.

The agitators said, Chakmas generally follow their own customs but unfortunately the Chakmas were not given their rights to practice customary laws.

They also said, no indigenous community has been given this right in Tripura.

So, with demand of permitting customary law practice in Chakma society in the ADC, this big protest was organized.
