AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Aug 19 (TIWN): Homeopathic Doctors today sat in a massive demonstration demanding immediate recruitment via Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). The massive protest was staged under All Tripura BHMS Doctors Association at Agartala Orient Chowmuhani with banners of “Fulfill our Demandsâ€. This is not the first ever protest which has been set by the Doctors, in last few years many times they have come in protest, deputations were placed before the Govt. Addressing media, Dr Dipankar Pal said, “For long 20 years Govt has stopped recruitment of homeopathic doctors via TPSC. For many years we have been appealing to the Govt to recruit us but no fruitful result came out. As a result, we have bound to start this movement and Doctors are bound to sit on the road. The cause behind our agitation is only and only recruitment".
"Everyone knows that homeopathic is less costly and affordable which helps the poor people a lot, but still why are we target of the deprivation ? The system is very pathetic where degree holder doctors are unable to get jobs whereas people without proper qualification are making lots of moneys as homeopathic doctor. This is one of the major causes why our health system is downing day by day”, Dr Dipankar Pal told media.
“No basic system is being followed for the treatments. No diagnosis, no proper system is being followed. This service has remained for namesake. As a result, Homeopathic is losing its ground and public faith. Govt everytime is only giving is assurances but no result is coming out in actual. As a result we are bound to sit in protest. We have only one demand that is job”, said Dr. Pal.
“More than 360 doctors left jobless across Tripura. Eventhough via NRHM few recruitments were going on but for few years it has been completely stopped”, he added.
Vacant posts are left empty for decades resulting massive unemployment in Homeopathy field.
