AGARTALA, Aug 13 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Tuesday while addressing on the occasion of NLFT-SD’s surrendering programme, has congratulated them for their decisions in support of own motherland India. Addressing in the organized programme at Chandrai Para Higher Secondary School in Ambassa of Dhalai District in Tripura the Chief Minister told the returnees, “Today all of you have proven that the previous path taken by you was not correct. If it was correct you would not be here today. So, let’s forget the regret and fulfill our common dream, which is the dream of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya. Let’s strengthen ADC areas and the people’s lives here”. CM further said that Govt will fulfill all the given promises to them according to the agreement whereas they (returnees) also have to keep their promise given to the Govt. “It is due to PM Modi and his nationalistic Govt under whose influence they have surrendered today. Again and again I congratulate you from the core of my heart”, said CM. Total 88 cadres of the militant outfit have surrender in Tripura today as per the agreement.

This 30 years old, outlawed insurgent outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) is moving towards a peace deal with Government of India as the insurgent outfit’s Sabir Debbarma faction signed a Memorandum of Settlement for negotiating a peace deal on Saturday.

Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Barman and MP Rebati Tripura and many more MLAs’ were present on that occasion.

Just ahead of 73rd Independence Day, surrendering of 88 ultras have been considered as a big achievement.

This move of NLFT-SD (faction group of NLFT) to return in homeland leaving paths of violence is considered as a win of BJP Govt to curb insurgency problems. Govt has successfully done this within 16 months of its ruling in Tripura.
