AGARTALA, Aug 13 (TIWN): Taking a jibe at the present BJP Govt for terminating various employees including JICA, Mid-day-meal etc and ongoing tensed 10323 teachers issue former CM, Politburo Manik Sarkar said that BJP Govt now has forgotten all promises and busy in termination of Govt employees. While talking about 10323 terminated teachers’ case, Sarkar said that poverty must be a recruitment criteria and CPI-M Govt was not wrong to provide jobs on that ground.
While addressing on the occasion of TYF’s meeting, Sarkar said that one former Congress leaders (most likely Sudip Roy Barman) gathered all the petitioners to file case in High Court against 10323 jobs and when the case was placed in the High Court the Chief Justice of that time (Deepak Gupta) terminated teachers on the basis of recruitment process for allocating poverty in the criteria of teachers’ recruitment Supreme Court also did the same, but we still will argue that poverty should be enlisted in the recruitment criteria.
“Poverty must be a criteria for recruitment of Govt employees or how the people will get jobs who due to poverty could not gather marks We opposed that and still we oppose that. Poverty should be in eligibility criteria as economic condition of a family matters a lot”, said Sarkar.
“Rich people can afford private tutors for their children but poor can not but that should not be cause of their deprivation in Govt jobs due to low marks”, said Manik Sarkar.
