‘India is the biggest hub for Handloom Industry’ : Deputy CM

AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Deb Barman on Wednesday while addressing in a seminar dedicated for handloom in Pragna Bhawan said that India is the biggest hub for handloom industry.
The seminar was conducted to mark National Handloom Day.
The Deputy CM said that handloom is not only ‘a piece of cloth’ but carries many significance.
He said, each state in India has different culture, has different trend and handloom reflects those cultures and tradition.
He praised Northeast states in India for having variety at the maximum.. Deb Barman said that Northeast is known for diversity and thus here tremendous opportunities existing for the handloom industry.
