AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): Before the banning of E-rickshaws, the drivers got 7 month’s time, said report.
However, allegedly due to Transport dept’s negligence and delay, the workers could not manage their papers and thus, now they have sought more time.
Tom Tom drivers under E-Rickshaw Sramik Samiti have demanded just one month time before banning their rickshaws. But BMS at the same time has demanded 6 month's time.
Already many workless men could not earn bread butter today and started crying. They are unable to give loans to Bandhan banks.
The workers’ leaders said that they do not believe in any protest but if they are forced to protest then how would be the protest it can not be said.
“We are just demanding 1 month more time. But unfortunately could not get that permission yet. We are trying our level best to get one month’s permission. We don’t want to create problem for the Govt, rather we want to help the Govt and that’s the reason we didn’t do any protest till now”, said one of the E-Rickshaw leaders.
