AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das who filed a defamation case against Ratanlal Nath has been defeated.

Before few years, the then CM Manik Sarkar was awarded by Bangladesh Govt when Ratanlal Nath said that Manik Sarkar didn’t deserve the award accusing Gautam Das for his nexus with Bangladesh award organizers.

Then Gautam Das filed a defamation case but defeated as Ratanlal Nath as a oppositions member in the Assembly got a clean chit for his statement as under freedom-of-speech.

Ratanlal Nath on yesterday after appearing in court won the case and addressed media.

Mocking at Gautam Das, Ratanlal Nath said that even Manik Sarkar didn’t come in court as witness. So it proves what we said was correct.
