AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): A daily workers who contributed in MGNREGA works at Gokulnagar village was beaten severely by Panchayat Pradhan Radhabinod Sharma, generated much resentment among the locals, although nobody is speaking out due to fear.

It has been known that East Gukulnagar village’s worker Mamata Sutradhar is not getting her wages even after contributing in MGNREGA.

To know the reason behind delays, she went to the local Panchayat office. She asked, why even after doing works for many days, she is not getting her deserved amount.

The Panchayat Pradhan could not answer the questions properly. At a time, when she argued, Sharma started beating her.

Behind this activity of Panchayat Pradhan, it has been suspected that Mandal leader Harekrishna Das is responsible, who is involved in various illegal activities and corruptions, said a news report.
