AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): The Delhi Special Police Establishment members to arrive in Tripura to investigate corruptions took place in the College from 2008 to 14 at NIT-Agartala, leading Engineering Institution’s Tripura branch.
According to Govt source, there are massive corruption allegation against the institution for embezzling funds from 2008 to 2014.
On that time NIT Director of NIT was P K Bose.
The corruption allegations include administrative building’s renovation, work station, hostel construction, and other construction works.
A case was filed in local police station Jirania with case no-2015-JRN046 dated 9.12.2015 under section 409, 420, 120 B IPC and PC Act 1998’s 13 (1)(D), Section 32.
But the case was handedover to CID resulting police could not do anything.
As a result, on 4/12/2017 Home Dept after talking to State Govt handedover the power to Delhi Special Police under Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946.
On 13th June, Chief Secretary was informed via a letter by Central Govt’s Under-Secretary P R Tripathi about Delhi Special Police's arrival.
It has been said that anytime Delhi special police might come and question the accused persons.
