Agartala, October 22(TIWN): The Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) will station mobile air pollution monitoring vans at Agartala, Udaipur, Ambassa and Dharmanagar to keep a track on the cracker bursting. A top level official of TSPCB, informed that in order to control the bursting of crackers above decibel, such measures are taken.Officials also informed the team monitoring the van will have to submit report to the committee of Supreme Court, briefing the details about the decibel of crackers. Usually the norms of TPSCB is Crackers should be bursted below 90 decibels.Besides these, The Tripura State Pollution Control Board has also issued a notification saying that under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, and Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, the maximum permissible noise level of firecrackers has been fixed at 90 decibel impulse noise at five meters from the source. The Supreme Court in 2005 had ruled that there should be a complete ban on bursting sound-emitting firecrackers between 10 pm and 6 am.
