AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Leaders of the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), an ally of the ruling BJP, who visited Delhi to meet the Prime Minister, Home Minister and other central ministers to press their statehood demand have met Amit Shah, the Home Minister could not bring colours.
However, Home Minister didn’t recognize the Tipraland demand and denied to discuss about that, said report, although other demands were discussed with the Govt.
Their demands include : 1) Re-demarcation of boundaries of District council, 2) Re-Delamination of District council, 3) Speedy implementation of special developmental packages, 4) Free ration system in 23 RD blocks, 5) Prevention of disturbances and attacks upon IPFT supporters and unwanted incidents in the tribal belts, 6) In case of land occupying proper compensation should be given to ST people, 7) Roman script for Kokborok and inclusion of Kokborok in 8th schedule. 8) Rejection of 6th Schedule Amendment Bill 2015 etc
