The water-logging problem in Agartala is not new, however, Govt has started work to develop the drainage mechanism.
For few days, monsoon has started in full swing in Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland are at risk of heavy to extremely heavy rains during the week.
However, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura would see light to moderate rains only, as impact of the trough would remain confined to upper areas of the region.
As reiterated by Skymet Weather, the Trough running along the Indo-Gangetic plains is now oscillating towards north over the foothills of Himalayas. In fact, the eastern end of the trough would be running through and through Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya and also in Tripura.
