AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): IPFT President cum Forest Minister NC Debbarma while addressing at Kharchi festival at the Chaturdash Devta temple in Old Agartala on Wednesday has said that Tripura’s culture is based on harmony which is liberal and various historical names as of rivers prove that.
Debbarma said, this tradition of harmony and unity should be proceeded forward in coming days.
“Fair is meant to unite people and in coming days also in the same way, may Kharchi festival bring peace and harmony among the people”, said the Minister.
Kharchi puja is a Hindu festival from Tripura, India. Performed in Agartala in July or August, the festival involves the worship of the fourteen gods forming the dynasty deity of the Tripuri people. Kharchi Puja is one of the most popular festivals in Tripura.
