Agartala, Oct 21 (TIWN): The members of National Students Union of India (NSUI) including OBC Paramedical students led by NSUI state president- Bapi Das today gheraoed the Director of OBC Welfare Department- Amit Kumar Debbarma seeking immediate release of OBC stipend for the Paramedical students in the current fiscal.
A section of OBC Paramedical students alleged that they are not getting stipends accordingly. The college authority is maintaining silent on this issue.
Later, after getting assurance for stipend release from the director, they lifted the gheraou. NSUI state vice-president Amarnath Chakraborty, general secretary Uttam Das, Rajesh Das including president of Paramedical Students’ Unit- Tamal Chowdhury and district secretary Pritam Sarkar participated in the gheraou program. NSUI state president Bapi Das assured to be with them on this issue.
