JOLAIBAR (South Tripura), July 2 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Tuesday while addressing in a school at Jolaibari on the occasion of 70th Statewide Forestation Day has slammed the previous CPI-M Govt for its failure to develop Bamboo industries and to save trees under Forest lands.
Deb also mentioned, there was no proper marketing chain set up by the previous Govt to expand Tripura bamboo-products.
Biplab Deb said, there was no proper law which could save the Forest area’s plants but now under simple laws when woods will be brought to the local offices, Govt will easily know which is theft item and which is not.
The CM further motivated people to plant trees as much as possible to help the environment and also to cooperate the Govt to make green Tripura.
It can be recalled here that Govt of Tripura in exercise of power conferred by Section 41, Section 42, Section 76 of the Indian Forest Act 1927 and read with the Gazette notification No-5 dated 8.1.2018 issued by Ministry of Law and Justice, made these following rules further to amend Tripura Forest Transit Rules 1952.
After rules’ introduction, these new rules were regulated :
1) In respect of Bamboo green in private forests and plot, the owner may remove the same only on obtaining a bamboo press form, issued by the beat officer on an application made to him by such owner,
2) In respect of bamboos’ grown in any land other than private forests and plot, the Beat officer and the member secretary of the Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) may issue the bamboo pass in form, appended to the rules on receipt of payment of charges due to JFMC, Bio-Diversity Management Committee (BMC) and Tripura Biodiversity Board,
3) For exporting bamboos (green) outside the state, bamboo pass may be issued by sub-divisional forest officer and such pass shall be considered as national permit,
4) No restriction on movement of finished bamboo products No-GP/TP shall be enforced.
