AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): In a shocking revelation, arecanut seedling scam has been alleged in Tripura, however, dept likely to start inquiry in it.

The scam has been alleged at Santir Bazar, South Tripura District under state’s Tribal Welfare Dept. The corruption was exposed by none other than local MLA Pramod Reang and his team, who stopped a vehicle carrying arecanut seedlings to distribute among Reang community’s people. They found that the seedlings are of very poor quality. It has been alleged, Deputy Director of the Dept Parendra Debbarma without any tender started distributing those seedlings. Dept’s officials themselves have too accepted that the seedlings’ qualities are not good.
