AGARTALA, October 19(TIWN): Without science and logic truth can never be achieved, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the 22nd state congress on children science in the 'Swabalamban' auditorium at A.D.Nagar.
We must try to utilize research on science and technology for social development science is closely related to overall human welfare and we must utilize science, Manik said.
Every sphere of life has been revolutionised by science. Science has undoubtedly done a great service to mankind. Science is the means to understand our surroundings. It helps us to learn about all the other creatures that live with us on earth and in the universe. It enlightens the path to truth, he mentioned.
Science is extremely important in everyday life because there is not one aspect of daily living that science has not made easier, faster or safer. Science results in technology that people rely on for health, communication and transportation. Scientific knowledge helps people understand the world from a cellular to a universal level, the minister further said.
A total of 58 projects of the state are on show in the ongoing Congress among 174 district level projects from different parts of the country. Out of the 58 projects 10 best projects will be selected for national level children science congress, he informed.
Technology must be viewed in the broadest sense, covering the agricultural and the services sectors along with the obvious manufacturing sector.
The three day long 22nd childrens science Congress is being organised at the initiative of Tripura Science Congress in association with Tripura Board of Science and Technology (TBST) and NCERT. The 22nd childrens science Congress will end on October 20.
