Agartala, Oct 19 (TIWN): Tripura Government Undertaking Employees and Workers Federation (TGUEWF) would stage a mass-demonstration centering various demands at Orient Chowmohani in Agartala onNovember 09, said president of TGUEWF- Samar Roy in a meeting at its office, here today.
The demonstration will be conducted based on various demands: to provide central pay scale, leave salary, LTC, die-in-harness, medical reimbursement, promotion for state PSU employees, providing pensions to the state’s employees like the central government employees, for providing pension to the Jute-mill and PSU workers like the state government employees and to protest against the corruption in Public Sector Unions (PSUs), said Samar.
He alleged, though the pension scheme has been introduced in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) and some government affiliated private schools but there is no initiative has been taken for PSUs till date. The jute-mill workers are not getting salary as the state government employees are getting. No leave salary is available in Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC). The PSU employees are being deprived from almost all the facilities.Many of the retired PSU employees including jute-mill workers have allegedly committed suicide in the left front led ‘golden era’ to get relief from the hideous pain. But the state government is still maintaining silent despite repeated letter from the federation.To make the sit-in-demonstration grand success, on behalf of the federation all the PSU workers and retired employees are requested to participate in the demonstration at Orient Chowmohani on November 9.
