NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): After 5 days of massive violence in Tripura, BJP led State Govt now has assured peace in the state. The statement from Chief Minister giving the ‘final warning’ to the party hooligans came after Congress at Delhi holding a press conference exposed Tripura-violence episodes which started massively after election result as well as same happened for a year. The Chief Minister however has assured there will be a review in the property damage done in last 5 days, accepting his party workers using BJP’s name were too actively involved in violence. Public also have demanded a clear report from the police regarding the arrests of the miscreants who were involved in post poll violence.
TIWN has received various mails, where victims are alleging either police denying FIR or no arrest of culprits even after complained. They have demanded strict action against the hooligans as this was not first time that the miscreants had attacked them.
On yesterday, 6 members of delegation team of CPI-M visited Chief Minister’s residence led by Manik Sarkar, Badal Choudhury, Tapan Chakraborty, Sahid Chowdhury, Bhanulal Saha, Prabhat Chowdhury. They met the CM and discussed about the poll violence, urged Chief Minister Biplab Deb to immediately stop all violence ongoing in state.
