KAILASHAHAR, Unakoti District, Oct. 17 (TIWN) : With the onset of Diwali, India's most "clean" and “poorest” Chief Minister and his administration gifted another major scam news of Rs 24 crores to the people of Tripura. Another ransom looting of public funds shattered the fake image of so called clean and transparent leftist regime has come to light in the Health Department of Unakoti District where more than 24 crores of rupees of Centrally sponsored NRHM has been gobbled by Govt. officials over 8 years. In this sensational scam, Accounts Officer Nirmal Chandra Das and Information section officer Abhijit Bhowmik has been suspended. MLA Birajit Sinha filed a case to the Kailasahar P.S. against four persons including the CMO and demanded the arrest of the accused within next 24 hours. Today Congress gheraod the CMO Dr. Alok Dewan and demanded CBI probe into the matter of misappropriation of NRHM fund and to ensure stringent steps against the culprits. The CMO admitted that in NRHM, no adjustment was submitted for the last eight years and for this the Accounts Officer Nirmal Chandra Das, Information Section Officer Abhijit Bhowmik has been suspended.

However, the gherao was called off after the Senior Deputy Magistrate J.V. Doati assured of filing F.I.R within next seven days from the part of the administration.

However, suspended Accounts Officer Nirmal Chandra Das demanded that he is by no means a part of this scam. Its is alleged that Media Expert Information section office Abhijit Bhowmik gobbled a large share of this amount alongwith higher officials, CPIM leaders. However, MLA Birajit Sinha filed an FIR with Kailasahar P.S. against CMO DR. Alok Dewan, Media and Communication Officer Abhijit Bhowmik, Accounts Officer Nirmal Chandra Das and Malaria Officer Dr. Subhas Barua demanding a strong and early action from the part of the police. Birajit threatened with strong movement if the deadline of seven days got passed without any action.
