AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN): Rabindranath Tagore’s statue was tarnished in Tripura.
The incident took place at Dharmanagar, North Tripura. The statue is located on the heart of Dharmagar town.
Netizens have slammed the miscreants. Local authority has taken initiative to restore the statue. Earlier, in Tripura Lenin, poet Sukanta Bhattacharjee, Maharaja Bi Bikram’s statue was damaged.
Rabindranath Tagore FRAS, and also known by his sobriquets Gurudev, Kabiguru, and Biswakabi, was a Bengali polymath, poet, musician, and artist from the Indian subcontinent. He reshaped Bengali literature and music, as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
