AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 27 (TIWN): Tripura University has taken special initiative to develop Tripura’s local language of the indigenous people “Jamatia Languageâ€.
In a press release, Tripura University Assistant Registrar Pranesh Debbarma said, “Development of Indigenous Language dictionary is an important achievement in Tripura state.
This will certainly benefit to develop social integrity and cultural diversity in the state like Tripura”
Prof. V. L. Dharurkar lectured in the Hindi, Jamatia-Tribe language course workshop in the Hindi Department of the University.
The five-member committee worked on this dictionary from 08.05.2018 to 24.05.2019. The dictionary was funded by Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and North-East Resource generation center.
The entire program was sponsored by Hindi Sanstan of Agra. This is the second workshop conducted by the department.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated and congratulated Dr. Milan Rani Jamatia, HOD for this academic work. Dr. Jai Kaushal compared the program and after the vote of thanks, the program was ended. The expert person who attended the workshop were key person in Jamatia language were Subharna Jamatia, Dr. Lukhanti Jamantia and Dr. Anjana Jamatia.
