AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 22 (TIWN): After CPI-M MP Sankar Prasad Dutta filed a petition in High Court demanding re-poll in the whole West Tripura constituency, Advocate Bikash Bhattacharjee told media that they were trying to bound the Election Commission for re-poll.
“We have appealed the High Court, now it’s up to the court what it will decide about the re-poll. Rigging happened, there is no doubt about that”, said Bikash Bhattacharjee.
West Tripura constituency election was held on 11th April, 2019 but massive rigging took place on the election day. Booths were captured, voters were prevented to cast votes whereas only 168 booths’ re-poll was conducted.
In this situation both CPI-M and Congress have gone in the legal way in demand of re-poll.
