KAILASHAHAR, October 16(TIWN) : Sheer indifference, negligence of the authority has caused a serious threat for the District TB Centre, here at Kailasahar.Interacting with TIWN, Dr. Nabajyoti Chakma expressed the extreme sufferings the patients and staffs facing here for infrastructural and hygienic problems.

The building of the centre is 40 years old and it is cracked at places in such a dangerous way that rain water enters the rooms with no obstacle at all. As a result, the rooms often remain wet and filthy with mud. Furthermore,the entire building may collapse at any moment ,according to local people. Though it is customary that District TB Centre should be adjacent to District Hospital, but no space is allotted for TB centre in the new District Hospital at Bhagabannagar. The doctors and other staffs are working in danger and in utter unhygienic environment.

It is really shocking that, the golden revolution of present regime of the state has not yet got opportunity to touch the District TB Centre with the magic wand !  Most likely, Health Secretary and higher up officials in Agartala have no clue about this TB centre as all in deep slumber of golden age.
