Agartala, October 16 (TIWN): Complying with the direction of Election Commission the draft electoral roll for the sixty assembly constituencies was published. However, the final electoral roll will be published on January 1st ,2015.
On Wednesday Chief Election Commissioner, Asutosh Jindal, published the draft electoral roll for sixty constituencies .It was available in the Tehsil office, ERO office and particular vote centers. According to the roll the total number of voter consists of 23lakhs, 84thousand and 125. Among them 12lakhs 14thousandand and 674 are male, 11lakhs 69 thousand and 451 are females.
Nine thousand voters are enlisted as new voters and 4856 are cut off from the voter list. There are 3134 vote centers. The ratio becomes 963.
On the other hand, the date for claiming and objection was scheduled as November 10th. According to the January1st, 2015, the persons who have attained or will attain the age of 18 or above, will be eligible to have their names enlisted in the electoral list. After holding meeting the Booth Level Officers (BLO) will make the draft electoral roll public at the Gram Panchayat and the ward offices.
Meanwhile, one day training has also been held in the capital involving the BLOs and Supervisors at the initiative of Sadar Sub-divisional administration. Besides, special awareness camps would be held on next October 17 and30 at the respective booths in the presence of the concerned BLOs. The eligible voters can put forward their demands and grievances on next October 19 and November 2. The voters enlisted in the final list will contact BLo’s and ERO office.
However, significantly, no booth level agent (BLA) representing Congress was present to oversee and monitor the process of preparation of revised roll in the designated centers that had been notified by the election department.
