AMC demands Rs. 2 crore from State Govt to launch new Garbage Collecting vehicles

AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sought Rs. 2 crore to buy new garbage collecting vehicles.
The vehicles last were bought in 2012-13 under the Left Government. Now almost 6 years have crossed with the vehicles. As a result, new vehicles are in demand.
AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha alleged, the new Govt is not cooperating with AMC with an unknown reason. Thus, AMC in lack of support from the Govt facing critical situations.
A letter was given to the Govt in September-2018 to buy new vehicles but so far no answer could be received from the Government side.
Mayor also mentioned, under the previous Govt the CM used to hold meetings with AMC but the new CM never held a single meeting with AMC.
