AGARTALA, April 22 (TIWN): CPI-M has overcome all threats of ruling BJP goons disruption of CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury’s rally allover East Tripura constituency. In criminal style, BJP’s unruly supporters gathered, gheraoed CPI-M supporters, leaders in the last rally at South Tripura on Sunday. In CPI-M rally where BJP goons were trying to enter their vehicles forcibly. Amid such attacks, CPI-M leaders as Badal Choudhury, Jitendra Chaudhury, Prabhat Chowdhury continued their speeches. CPI-M and Congress both parties have warned BJP not to disrupt the peaceful environment during voting of East Tripura on 23rd April after BJP totally rigged West Tripura Election on April 11. But still BJP allegedly has pushed goons and set them to start terrorize voters since one night before the Election. Physical attacks took place on opposition supporter at 25 Khowai.The incident took place on 25 Khowai centre’s Singirchara’s 15 number booth.
The victim has been identified as Adhir Nama. He was beaten severely at Khowai.CPI-M leaders at Manu have delivered speeches, maintained a peaceful gathering amid continuous threat from the BJP to disrupt peace. The rally was conducted at Manu, but as soon as the rally started the BJP supporters started to gherao the CPI-M gathering.
Few of CPI-M supporters even though wanted to stop the BJPs, but immediately, CPI-M leader Prabhat Chowdhury, MP Jitendra Chaudhury stopped the party activists not to fall un that trap.Prabhat Chowdhury said, “We are disciplined party, should not be motivated by BJP’s intrigue of violence”.
The CPI-M rally then continued by Prabhat Chowdhury and MP Jitendra Chaudhury’s speech. Yesterday, the last date for East Tripura constituency’s poll campaigning.
The East Tripura Election was scheduled to be held on 18th April but observed West Tripura poll’s massive rigging, booth capturing and ongoing tensions in the East Tripura constituency, Election Commission of India (ECI) had postponed the election for 23rd April.
