AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): Even though all were set that V S Yadav would take charge for Law and Order on 16th April night, but all of a sudden his denial to save Tripura’s democracy was surprising.
Yadav is an honest officer who was since beginning sidelined by Biplab Deb Govt.
Various sources informed that Yadav was threatened by Biplab Deb not to join in the given duty.
Due to poll code violation and motivating election rigging under Biplab Deb Govt, Election Commission had removed Additional DGP Rajiv Singh from election duties and also freed from Law and Order section. It was ordered that VS Yadav will take the charge, but when everything was set, suddenly Yadav has denied to join.
As a result Commission is appointing Punit Rastogi.
However, free and fair election still under cloud as Punit Rastogi has been alleged a close to UP CM Adityanath Yogi. But Election Commission is keeping strict eye over Tripura election.
Noteworthy, many honest upright officers quitted Biplab Deb Govt including Y Kumar who took voluntary retirement under Biplab Deb Govt.
