AGARTALA, April 17 (TIWN): BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav’s close friend IPFT Minister Mebar Jamatia continues to back Biplab Deb Govt amid BJP National Secretary Sunil Deodhar asked IPFT Ministers to forget about Tipraland.

After the election was deferred due to security issues, Minister Mebar Jamatia claimed that he thinks the election was deferred basically due to Garia Puja.

Polling to Tripura East parliamentary constituency, slated for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 18, has been deferred.

EC Under Secretary Santosh Kumar Dubey in a letter to the CEO, which is available with IANS, said the Commission has directed to re-publish a notification about the deferment of the election.
