AGARTALA, October 13 (TIWN): No crisis of petrol in the state. According to Deputy Director of Food Shekhar Lal Das, normally the state requires more than 1 lakh liters of petrol per day which is coming on regular basis.
In spite of stable supply of fuel, long queue was seen in almost all petrol pumps in the city. At present we are having 40,000 liters of petrol as stock in the Agartala Municipal Corporation areas. Around 90,000 liters of petrol is on its way, Shekhar Lal Das mentioned.
At present six petrol pumps of the city are engaged in giving petrol namely Radhanagar, Ganaraj Chowmuhani, Kashipur, Bordowali, Badharghat and Dhaleshwar, he added.
He further said that there is no shortage of petrol in the state. The supply of petrol is regular to the state. Today also long queue was seen in front of some petrol pumps”, he said. Exhorting people not get panic, he said the situation would certainly improve within next few days as there is no shortage of petrol.
During Durga puja, there was problem in supplying petrol but this has been solved now. But, some bikers today expressed anger after they denied of petrol at IOC-run petrol pump at Radhanagar.
