AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): Tripura Health & family Welfare Dept Secretary Samarjit Bhowmik on Sunday while addressing in a Health awareness programme said that once diabetes catches us then except medicine, there is no option so far remains.
“While diabetes cannot technically be cured, it can go into remission, however, if we can improve the awareness level among the young generation, then it would be helpful more. Because, in future, they are going to be adult and if it can be prevented from early stage of life, then only diabetes chances can reduce”, he said, adding, “Our target should be young generation”
Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. Glucose comes from the foods you eat. Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy. With type 1 diabetes, your body does not make insulin.
