MELAGHAR, March 8 (TIWN): One artist is homeless, his 40 lakhs property, Gods/Goddesses idols were damaged, house was burnt by BJP miscreants just because he is a CPI-M voter.

The incident took place at Melaghar. The artist has been identified as Ray Mohon Pal who is residing in his relatives’ home as his house was captured by local BJP. BJP miscreants led by local leader Chandan Debnath the attacked his home. Total 26 Durga idols, Biswakarma 200, Kali 9. Apart from them, Saraswati, Laxmi and other Gods’ and Goddesses’ idols were also damaged. After he complained this matter to Chief Minister Biplab Deb, he was assured that Biplab Deb will look after the matter. But Biplab Deb’s promise resulted in burning of Ray Mohon’s home. The BJP miscreants not only set fire in his home but also stopped police and fire brigade to operate. FIR was even though lodged, but so far no action was taken against Chandan Debnath and others.
