36% of Class-VIII students in Tripura Govt schools can’t read Class-II Bengali books : Education Minister

AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath on Sunday while addressing media at Agartala said that 36% students in Tripura Govt schools who read in Class VIII are unable to read out Class-II book’s Bengali written lines.
The Minister was addressing after four days long assessment of students were done across Tripura schools.
Ratanlal Nath also said, in similar way 67% students do not know division in Mathematics.
Education dept will launch 30 days long training programme for school teachers. Out of 30 days, 15 days will be kept for teachers training under in best institutions outside Tripura.
Also Govt has taken decision not to promote students who are not qualified to be promoted class-VIII.
