AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Amid India-Bangladesh border’s illegal narcotic corridor on spike, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced there will be no need of changing trucks on the borders which are engaged in export-import works.
Biplab Deb said, it will decrease the expenses and down the money extortion chances.
Deb fixed the matter under External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s permission, said Biplab Deb.
“There is no need of standing in rows at the border and thus Bangladesh trucks directly can enter here. On yesterday, joint letter of India-Bangladesh came with permission of border stoppage’s withdrawal, for which I asked earlier”, said Biplab Deb.
It can be mentioned here, since BJP came in power problems in border has been increased and one BJP MLA Surajit Datta alleged, BJP’s own people are engaged in narcotic business. In this condition, the removal of border checking how far will help Tripura to curb illegal trends, it has raised question.
The trucks will now directly enter India covering 3 KM. However, it may cause serious affect on a major section border area’s people’s livelihoods too.
