AGARTALA, October 8 (TIWN): The exaggerated and superfluous use of online social media, now-a-days has been acting as a tool not only to sustain and maintain the personal life of one but the same, very often, is invading into many serious and objectionable issues relating to organized crimes and national security, at the worst scenario.
In the recent past number of organized crimes were held having its root in social networking sites. This time, the Chief Minister of Tripura has faced the heat. Couple of days ago, a fake profile of the Chief Minister was found in the pages of popular social network website Facebook.com. And the same also contained offensive remarks and posts. Acting upon the state, the authority had initiated instant action and the result is in the sight within a day. “We had sent e-mail to Facebook authority for blocking the profile of the chief Minister, yesterday and on the same day the account went out of order”, said Investigating Officer (IO) of the case DSP Central Rajendra Dutta, today, to TIWN.
However, the offender is yet to be traced. “We are waiting for the reply from the Facebook authority about the identity and whereabouts of the fake account creator”, further added the IO.
