Mandwai Block awarded for Jan Dhan Yojana implementation

Agartala, October 8(TIWN): Mandwai Block in West Tripura District bagged award for excellence in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
District Magistrate of West District - Abhishek Singh received the award in New Delhi on Tuesday. There are total 12,910 families living in total 23 village committees in the block. Out of them, total 19,980 people have opened accounts in different banks till date, said MLA Manoranjan Debbarma.
“ We are trying to include more people under banking facilities in the coming days,” said Debbarma.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar launched Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana in Tripura on August 28 to cover all the households under banking facilities.
